Professional Experience
Sidney Elbaz is an associate in the firm's Restructuring Group. He is developing a practice focused on all aspects of bankruptcy, restructuring and secured lending. Sidney is also active in the Litigation, Class Actions and Competition Groups. In particular Sidney acts on various class actions matters concerning alleged price fixing cartels and Consumer Protection matters.
Sidney completed his Civil Law degree and his Common Law degree at the University of Ottawa. In 2007/2008, Sidney completed his LLM at the University of Cambridge where he focused on subjects including International Banking and Restructuring as well as Competition law. Prior to that he completed his BA at the McGill University, majoring in History with a minor in Anthropology.
Sidney teaches the Security for Debt course at the University of Ottawa faculty of Law (civil law), National Program.
Sidney graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Ottawa Civil Law section and Magna Cum Laude, from the Common Law section, as well as receiving a Bourse de Mérite from the University of Ottawa for his academic standing in his second year.
