Professional Activities
Sandy (Ningyan) Wang is a partner in the Vancouver office of McMillan LLP and a key member of the firm's China Practice Group. Sandy joined the firm in 2007 following five years of legal practice in the People's Republic of China (the "PRC") and is the only attorney in the firm called to the bar in both the PRC and Canada.
Sandy's practice focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, Canadian listings, securities and corporate law, with a special emphasis in Asia-Pacific and mining/natural resources transactions.
Sandy has approximately 10 years of experience in providing legal services to clients in both the PRC and Canada. She has represented numerous companies, ranging from significant Chinese stated-owned and private-held enterprises to emerging growth companies. Sandy provides her clients with a full range of legal services in regards to corporate financings, public listings, M&A counseling, joint venture/strategic alliance and change of control transactions.
In addition, Sandy has assisted clients with numerous overseas listings of China-related companies on the TSX or TSX-V by way of IPO, RTO and Qualifying Transaction with CPCs. She also has experience in advising on corporate governance and regulatory compliance for TSX and TSX-V issuers.
Sandy is fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Representative Transactions
- Acted for the first China-based North American mining developer in taking a green-land mining property into commercial production and engaged in its various corporate finance and M&A transactions
- Acted for and provided strategic advice to a significant Chinese steel and iron company in acquiring control of a TSX nickel mining issuer
- Acted for a China-based private equity fund in investing in the solar industry in the Province of Ontario and the State of New Jersey

- During her period of practice in the PRC, Sandy was a regular columnist for China Consumer, a magazine founded by the China's Consumer Association with a circulation of more than one million readers.
