Professional Experience
Mark has practised as litigation counsel in Alberta since 1996. He has substantial experience before the various branches of the Alberta Courts as well as the Federal Court, Trial Division. He has also appeared as counsel before the Alberta Securities Commission and the Energy and Utilities Board.
His experience also includes:
- a broad spectrum of general corporate/commercial litigation, including shareholder remedies, director and officer liability, oil and gas commercial disputes, security realization and fraud matters
- securities matters, including litigation involving illegal distributions, market manipulation, insider trading and takeover bids
- negotiating settlements and severance packages for employment terminations on behalf of employers and employees and representation of plaintiffs and defendants in wrongful dismissal actions.
Mark has conducted prosecutions under the Income Tax Act and other federal statutes on behalf of the Federal Prosecution Service and has also appeared before the Alberta Securities Commission as litigation counsel.
