Professional Activities
Judith Atwood is an associate in the Business Law Group in the firm's Ottawa office. Judith's practice includes general corporate and commercial matters, and the negotiation and drafting of contracts, agreements and corporate documents.
Judith is currently on secondment with Allen Vanguard, where she acts as Associate General Counsel and deals with a wide range of issues relating to employment, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, litigation management, regulatory compliance and intellectual property enforcement.
As an articling student with the firm, Judith conducted extensive legal research, drafted various agreements for clients and pleadings and factums for Small Claims, the Superior Court of Justice and the Supreme Court of Canada. She also attended court appearances, mediations, discoveries, commercial closings and had full carriage of many Small Claims Court files.
As a law student Judith was elected President of the Students' Law Society in her third year and prior to that, acted as the first and second year class Representative. She also volunteered for Community Legal Aid. In her role as a Litigator/Group Advisor, she conducted criminal trials and dispositions, mediations and resolution meetings with Crown Attorneys.
During her undergraduate years, Judith was a competitive student athlete, playing NCAA Division I soccer in Detroit, Michigan. When off the field, Judith served as the Chair of the Student Advisory Board for the College of Business as well as the Student Athletic Advisory Committee.
Today, Judith is active in the community and remains a competitive and recreational sports enthusiast.

- Alex Fraser & Eva Shumer Goldberg Scholarship in Law, awarded to a law student on the basis of overall academic standing and contributions to the extra-curricular, academic and social life of the faculty (2007-2008).
- J. W. Whiteside Award, awarded to select members of the graduating class in recognition of outstanding services to the Faculty of Law, the legal community and the community of Windsor (2008).
