Professional Experience
John Paterson is a senior partner of McMillan in the firm's Corporate/Commercial Group. John has extensive experience in the practice of corporate law with particular emphasis on contract negotiations, acquisitions, structuring, mergers and joint venture arrangements. He has advised clients in diverse fields including the publishing, health care, pharmaceutical, consulting engineering and not-for-profit sectors. He is Honorary Counsel to the Canadian Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute of Canada and has acted as counsel to Cancer Care Ontario.
John is a past director of the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships, Washington, D.C. and is a former co-chair of the firm's public-private partnership project team.
John is currently a director of BTMU Capital Corporation, BTMU Leasing (Canada) Corporation, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Canada and MMM Group Limited.
