Gerald (J.R.) Beaudrie joined the firm's Toronto office as an associate in the Business Law Group in 2006, after summering and articling with the firm.
J.R. Beaudrie's well-rounded business practice enables him to provide effective representation to clients dealing with the complex set of laws and regulations affecting their companies and partnerships.
His practice is focused on general corporate and commercial matters, including: business structuring and organization, restructurings and reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance including private placements and credit facilities, and the preparation and negotiation of contracts, agreements and corporate documents.

Representative Transactions
J.R. Beaudrie acted on the following transactions:
- Acted for Teck Resources Limited in the Gleichen Resources Ltd. acquisition of 78.8% of the Morelos Gold Project from Teck Resources Limited through the acquisition of Oroteck Mexico S.A. C.V. for a purchase price of US$150 million.
- Acted for Mirvish Productions in the purchase of Toronto's Canon and Panasonic Theatres from Key Brand Entertainment.
- Acted for Deluxe Vancouver Ltd., a division of the Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc., when it acquired Rainmaker Entertainment Inc., a division of Rainmaker Income Fund, along with Visual Effects UK Limited, Rainmaker's visual effects operation in London, England, for approximately C$31 million.
- Acted for Rogers Media in the acquisition of five Citytv conventional television stations from CTVglobemedia Inc. The Citytv network includes stations in Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver. The purchase price was in excess of C$375 million.
- Acted for Mylan Inc. when it completed its 4.9 billion (US$6.8 billion) acquisition Merck KGaA's generics business to become one of the largest quality generics and specialty pharmaceuticals companies in the world
- Acted for Bioscrypt Inc. in its acquisition of A4Vision Inc. and concurrent private placement in 2007.
- Acted for VoiceGenie Technologies Inc. when it was acquired by Alcatel's Genesys.
